Risk Assessment Risk assessment is an integral part of any safety statement. Section 19 of the 2005 Safety, Health and Welfare at Work act requires employers to identify hazards at their place of work and assess the risks from these hazards. It is mandatory to have risk assessments in place where any of the following come into consideration within your workplace noise, manual handling, fire, first aid, night work/shift work, children and young persons, personal protective equipment (PPE), working at height and pregnancy. This list is not exhaustive. Risk assessments must be conducted by a competent person, in written form and be relevant and proportionate to the risk as they exist and be reviewed and updated as circumstances require. The people who might be affected by the hazards must be informed of the risk and what protective measures are in place to ensure their health and safety. McIntyre Consultancy carries out a comprehensive risk assessment programme as part of their safety statement services. Stand alone risk assessments can be undertaken or the review and update of existing risk assessments as requested by the client. Please contact us to discuss you particular requirements. |
